So we showed everyone the house and Nancy, Joey and the kids loved it. We weren't able to show them the backyard until morning. For several days beforehand I had been monitoring the weather forecast and it didn't look good. I was sooo disappointed. I had wanted to do so much with them when they arrived, but Nancy reassured me that they were here to relax and just be with us, so that's exactly what we did. The next day we just showed them around town and went to Vancouver Pizza on main street and had some delicious pizza. Afterwards the Gals went shopping and I took the guys to my work and showed them around. We relaxed for the remainder of the evening.
The next day we decided to go to Multnomah Falls. We stopped along the way and looked at some of the smaller falls. We finally arrived to the largest of the falls and decided we would hike to the bridge to get a better look. Once we got there, we decided to just keep on going and climb to the top of the falls, a whopping 2 miles round trip. Doesn't seem like much, but for those of us who aren't in shape and sit on their bums all day, it was somewhat of a challenge. After much heaving and hoeing, we did it! We conquered the falls and got to the top. The climb down was much easier, but it too had some strain on different muscles. So after straining ourselves, we all were really hungry, but by this time it was too late for lunch and too earlier for dinner. That didn't stop us and we all decided on Ruby Tuesday for Linner (Lunch and Dinner). When we got home, we ate a late supper that Jen had worked on preparing since the night before, one of my favorite dishes, Belgian Pork Roast with Mushrooms and Fries. Yum!
The last day was Taco, gaming, and movie rental day! Jen picked up all the ingredients for some better than you can find in Vancouver tacos, tacos! We pretty much relaxed around the house all day, played bored games (most of the time not actually playing, but laughing at everyones jokes, it was fun). We rented some DVD movies and just vegged on the couch all together watching Hoodwinked (which was kinda dumb) and Last Holiday (which was much better).
The next day was their departure back home. They woke up at 4:00 am to make their voyage and make sure they got home to settle in before having to go back to work. Actually they were supposed to leave the day before, but I'm glad they stayed the extra day. All in all and even though the weather wasn't the greatest, we did enjoy their company and had tons of fun. Thank you Pfleghaar people, we loved it and will always enjoy your company in our house in the Couv. If you haven't already done so, make sure to check out the pictures.
You're always welcome!
