Our good old neighbors from San Jose finally found a chance to visit us in the 'Couv! Dave had a problem with his computer and since I would consider myself to know a thing or two about computers, I thought I would help him out. Only problem was the computer had some bad hardware, so it wasn't like I could just fix it over the phone, so it was the perfect excuse for them to pay us a visit.
They traveled most of Friday and when they arrived they we're pretty hungry. Fortunately Jen had been preparing a wonderful homemade chili meal for them. After dinner, we got right away to fixing Dave's computer. We found it to be a bad optical drive and replaced it. Now that all the hard work was out of the way, the rest of the weekend was for play!
As is customary for most people who visit us in Washington, we took them to see the beautiful waterfalls; including Multnomah waterfall. With how many times Jen and I have been there, you would think we're getting sick of going there, but to the contrary; it's a different experience depending on the time of the year. I must say that seeing the waterfalls right after it had snowed was awesome and very beautiful! I got some
great pictures of this winter wonderland!
Later that night we were excited to take them to Ruby Tuesday for RIBS!!! We had been bragging to Dave and Dana about how good the ribs are and I was joking to Dave: "Watch, they'll bring them out and they won't be as good as they usually are" and let me just say this: I wish I had "knocked on wood". When you pay BIG bucks for a meal like this, you don't just force down bad food! So I mentioned it to the manager and he promptly got his all new ribs. I guess I wished it was right the first time, but at least it worked out in the end.
The next day we had a little surprise up our sleeve! To give some background on the story, when we lived in San Jose, we we're fortunately blessed enough to have 2 sets of great neighbors, the second set being Brett and Jenika. Ironically enough, several months after we moved to the 'Couv, Brett and Jenika followed us here and live just down the street! For the last couple days, Dave and Dana kept mentioning Brett and Jenika and we kept changing the subject. That's because we had them unexpectedly show up, ok unexpectedly for Dave and Dana that is. And since Jen had planned all this, she had dinner awaiting and what do you know, for 2 more guests. To say the least, Dave and Dana were very happy to see them and visit with them in our home.

After dinner while we were "chit-chatting" we discovered that Brett just acquired ping-pong table and installed it in his downstairs bedroom. Dave, Brett and I are all very much lovers of ping-pong, so Brett invited us over for a few games. We had an awesome time playing ping-pong at their house and it was good for Dave and Dana to see where they lived.
Monday was their day to travel back to San Jose and all the fun was over. We loved having them over and can't wait when they return in June or July!
Be sure to
check out the pictures from when they visited.
