Today as we were at the hospital, I was thinking that it would sure be nice if Tandy could wake up, so I went to ask the intensivist when that would be possible and here came the bombshell: "we are not going to stop the sedative until she can breathe on her own and right now the respirator is doing all the breathing for her. Actually, her liver is not getting better, actually it is getting a little bit worse; essentially we are doing all the work for her." As I tried to pick up my jaw off the floor, I said "Oh, I understand" and as I was leaving he said "Oh, I am sorry".
Needless to say Mel & I were pretty upset. We are not giving up though, we hope things will change! We pray things will change!... with faith.
