What an incredible, difficult, painful day. Last night she was bleeding internally somewhere. The doctor decided to do an endoscopy, but there was so much blood that he could not see clearly. He decided that they would give her some more plasma with clotting factors, hoping that this would allow him to see more clearly in the morning.
This morning second try and he saw an ulcer on her upper small bowel, he then tried to cauterized it but it was so thin that he made a hole in it immediately. It was decided that this needed to be repaired. Dr. Jackson warned us that this would be a very difficult surgery and that she might not survive it. After some very difficult hours the surgeon brought us up to date as to what happened. She is an extreme fragile state, he had to open her up from stem to stern so to speak because her liver was three times its normal size, they could not touch it without “breaking” it. They were not able to repair the small bowel, they just put a drain in it. They had to leave her abdomen open until some of the swelling could diminish. She is in a very tenuous situation, the next few days will be crucial.

Jen,
Thank you so much for the continued updates on my mom.
If you are able to make contact with Tandy again, please tell her that I love her and that Stacy has a Mother's Day
Card for her. I'm considering mailing it, whats your address? Also tell her that we are both praying for her.
Thanks,
-Cody
