Evening edition by Monique Childs, the "motha, motha, motha" as Tandy would say when she would call me, next she would say "this is your favorite daughter!".
Tandy has such good nurses to take care of her. As you can well imagine, if she did not have pain medication she would be in excruciating pain (she has a huge, open incision) and the minute she winces the nurse augments her pain medication. She has so many intravenous lines going into her, so many machines providing medication and so many bodily fluids that need to be suctioned and the nurses watch them all. The doctor in charge of the intensive care unit came and talked to us today and we were able to ask him any and all questions we had. Unfortunately, several of them had the same answer: "we don't know", "there is no way to tell", the health of her liver was always the most desired outcome. So we are pleading with our Heavenly Father for a healthy liver.
Her temp tonight was 100 (which is good for someone just out of surgery), so she is about as well as can be expected. Her color seems to be a little better too (not so yellow).
Talk to you tomorrow.

We love you Monique. All our prayers and best wishes are with your family at this time. Tandy sounds like she is a fighter (just like her devoted mother). Everything is fine here at Piedmont Hills. Don't worry about your students, they are in great hands with Peggy. All our love and best wishes are with you and your family right now.
Trish
Monique, we are all praying for Tandy, and for you and your family. You are in our thoughts every day. If there is anything you need done here at Piedmont, just ask.

Hello Loving Family of Tandy,
My name is Mariellen Harmic. Tandy worked for my husband, Dan Harmic, at Northside Ford in Portland a few years back. Dan and I know her to be outgoing, inclusive, and compassionate.
Please know that we are keeping Tandy (and all family) in our thoughts and prayers during this time. In fact, the entire Northside "family" that knew her is keeping her close to heart.
I am the administrative assistant at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Vancouver (Mill Plain and SE 126th Avenue) and we have added her to our prayer chain.
May God bless Tandy and your family and may God keep you in God's loving, comforting, and gracious care.
Thank you so much for sharing Tandy's journey with us on this blog.
~Mariellen Harmic
We're still praying daily for you and Tandy and ours are added to that of so many others.
I haven't been up to see you in some days since you did not want any of my flu germs that were shared with me by my 6th graders.
Please just call if I can do anything to help.
Our love to you,
Joyce Gambill
