Additions and Subtractions

This week, we have had a few changes to the Wharff household. We are sad to say that we have lost a member of our family team...Jen's car, the black Honda Accord EX ('04) was lost in a car accident that took place on Tuesday afternoon around 5:15. It ended up that Jen and Kaylene were involved in a three car pile-up on 78th street, (Right outside of Carol's Corner Cafe, Mom). The police and EMT's arrived within 30 seconds, quite fast, and took Jen and Kaylene to the Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital to be evaluated. Luckily they were both fine with no lasting injuries. Just scratches on Kaylene's neck from the belts of the car-seat, and sore muscles and a bruised ego for Jen.

The insurance decided on Monday morning that the vehicle is a total loss, due to the amount it would cost to fix and replace what needs to be done, especially since the airbag did deploy, and that fix alone is around $1500. We, especially Jen, are heartbroken as Jen LOVED that car, and it has always been good to us.

Luckily, while at the hospital, the routine health tests performed on Jen discovered that she has a type of parasite growing in her belly. That's right! We are pleased to announce that we are seven weeks pregnant with our second child! "Number Two" is set to arrive sometime in April. The due date has yet to be solidified, as another, more accurate ultrasound is needed to determine how far along Jen really is, giving us a more accurate due date.

So, while we lost our car, we found out we are gaining a new baby! We are elated, as we were told that there was no real good chance of us being able to conceive again on our own, as Jen's body does not "function" the way a normal adult woman's body should.
