So I decided to go back to school. This is kinda scary, especially at this time in my life. Time for a big jump, are you ready…
Whew! I just made it through my first 2 weeks and wow has it been a wild ride so far, but I’m getting a hang of it.
Why? I decided to go back because my Church has this amazing program with BYU Idaho called “Pathway”. It truly is amazing program that enables many in my Church to get back on track to a higher education. It is a 12 month program that gives you 15 credits to be used at any other credited university. At the end I plan to continue onto BYI-I online.
I’m taking two courses to start:
- GS120 - Life Skills and Math
- FDREL 121 - Foundations in Religion
So far both classes have been incredible, and I feel like in just this short time I’ve already learned skills to apply to my daily life.
In fact, this blog post is in response to an assignment from my religion class. Here are some of my thoughts from my first two weeks of my religion course:
To start, we are studying the Book of Mormon. It is an amazing book about the people who lived here in on the American continent before Columbus arrived. It details their life trials, times of peace and more importantly their interactions with God and Jesus Christ.
One particular person named Nephi is an amazing example of a follower of Christ. He and his family had many trials and afflictions, yet continued in faith in Jesus Christ and eventually saw the fruit of their labors. This is a great example to me that if you are diligent and work hard towards a worthy goal, Heavenly Father will bless you and your family. It doesn’t mean you will be without issues/problems in your life, but God will enable you to work and get through these difficult times and find peace.
I invite everyone to give the Book of Mormon a chance, it will change your life for the better!
