The Tandy Report - Sunday

Mother’s Day

My wish for Mother’s Day was to have Tandy open her eyes and communicate with us, I got my wish!! She opened her eyes and answered our questions as best she could without being able to speak because of the tracheotomy. Her sense of humor was there as well as she rolled her eyes when we did not understand her.

This was truly a balm of Gilead for me since the doctor had just told me that her liver was still getting worse. He also said that she has to want to get better in order for her to improve. Needless to say, we got that commitment out of her!

She has a gram positive bacteria in her lungs and is getting antibiotics for it. Because of this she has a fever of 101.3 again. They are going to wean her off the ventilator a little at a time to see if she can breathe on her own.

I am so glad that she was able to communicate with you. I bet you weren't that happy with her eye rolling when she was a kid! Amazing how our perspective changes. Please give her my love. I know she is a fighter and pray that she will continue to improve. Thanks for the daily posting.

Monique,

Everyone at Piedmont and particularly in the English department is thinking of you and hoping for the very best outcome. Please take care of yourself and don't worry about school. Although the kids miss you, Peggy is doing a good job of covering your classes.

We love you Monique, and the ones who pray amongst us are praying hard for your family. May God hold you and your family in his hands. Don't worry about work. All is well here. Your kids are in great hands.
Love,
Trish

My name is Olivia Heilmann and Tandy was not only my families piano teacher but a great friend. My sister Amanda (Ogden) was Tandy and Rod's live-in nanny for a while. We have such good memories and many inside jokes that I know would make her smile.

I would love to come see her if I could. I just found out about her condition on Saturday while at a Tea Party. I overheard 'Tandy' and 'organ failure' and had to butt in to find out if they were talking about my Tandy. Indeed they were.

I was grateful to find this site so that I can know of her progress. Please, if you get a spare moment, send me an email or a call to let me know if it would be ok for me to come and wish her well.

Happy Mother's Day Monique, Jen and Tandy! The choicest gift was certainly yours, and an answer to the prayers of so many!
I remember various leaders saying that "fasting without a purpose is just starving yourself". These past few weeks it has made more sense to me. The hunger pangs aren't uncomfortable, they simply mean it's time to say another prayer for Tandy. They remind me to solicit others for prayers of healing on her behalf. It also brings to mind that our Savior sacrificed SO much more than a few meals and calories.
Here I go again, getting more than I originally set out to give.
I wish you all strength, stamina and His constant, loving care.
Love, Kathi
