Tornado hits Vancouver

IMG_8390

36 years ago a tornado wreaked havoc on Vancouver and today it happened again around noon time! Jen calls me at work in a pretty shook-up state and says that it's hailing outside the size of marbles. I look outside at work and it's sunny and my work isn't very far from our home, about 5-6 miles. She tells me that it sounds like construction workers are right outside our house and huge thunder noises. I tell her not to worry until the hail is larger than a half-dollar and I go back to my work. About 60 seconds later, she says that it's worse and that the news is announcing "tornado warnings", she looks outside and about a half mile from the front of our house, she says she sees a huge twirling extremely dark cloud. I asked her if she felt if it were heading towards her or away and she said "it looks like it's going away from us". Since it was going away from her and she was pretty shook-up, I told her that she could come to my work if she wanted and that's what she did. Later we discovered it was a mild F1, but did quite a bit of damage to the surrounding properties and amazingly enough no one was hurt. CRAZY! Who would of though there would be a tornado in Vancouver! Check out the pictures Jen took.
