The Thursday Tandy Report - Morning
Good Afternoon everyone! Today, we got a special wake-up phone call from Tandy's nice night nurse, Paul. He said that he called out to Tandy, and she opened her eyes, and looked at him!! This is really big, as we have been trying to get her to "wake up" since she was taken off of the sedation medication last Thursday morning. I took Kaylene down to see her, as she is 18 months old today, hoping that maybe hearing her voice might make Tandy wake up some more. Kaylene held her hands, and talked to her Auntie and Tandy seemed to try to move her head around towards our voices. She is breathing better, not fully 100% on her own, but she is doing more and more of the "work" of breathing on her own every day. Today she also tries to squeeze our hands, and move her limbs when we ask her to. The function level of her kidneys is getting better every day, and we are still waiting for her liver to start to regenerate and fix itself; as it is still in really bad shape. She is not totally out of the woods yet, but she has made great progress thus far considering where she was a little over a week ago. We appreciate all of your prayers for her, and for the whole family. I know I can say that I feel the love from our friends and family throughout this time. I will update more as I have more information!
